What we do

Empowering Pakistani Americans Through Civic Engagement

The Pakistani American Voters Association (PAVA) is a nonpartisan, nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering the Pakistani American community through civic education, voter engagement, and advocacy. Founded in the Greater Houston area, PAVA was established to meet the growing demand for increased political participation and representation within the community.

Asian Americans are the fastest-growing racial or ethnic group in the U.S. electorate, yet they remain significantly underrepresented in civic and political spaces. Pakistani Americans, particularly in urban hubs like Houston, are becoming a vital voice in shaping local, state, and national decisions. But despite this growth, barriers such as:

  • Voter inaccessibility
  • Lack of political representation
  • Limited outreach and resources

How We Create Impact

We believe that civic engagement goes beyond just voting. It includes:

  • Attending town halls and public forums
  • Engaging in peaceful advocacy
  • Serving on local boards and commissions
  • Encouraging others—family, friends, and neighbors—to vote

At PAVA, we are building civic power from the ground up, ensuring every voice is heard and every vote counts.

A Stronger Democracy Starts Now

PAVA is a registered nonprofit organization in Texas, with our principal office located in Sugar Land, a vibrant suburb of Houston.

Our long-term goal is to build a stronger, more representative democracy by empowering Pakistani Americans to be fully engaged in all aspects of public life—today and for generations to come.
